Capitol Park After Dark Movie Series Opens with 'Notorious' on We...

New York State Office of General Services Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced that free outdoor movie nights are returning to West Capitol Park in Albany on three consecutive Wednesday nights. The Capitol Park After Dark movie series features films suitable for the entire family. 
 
With movies starting promptly at 8 p.m., the series includes screenings of: 

Those attending the movies should come prepared with their own chairs or blankets. 

Free popcorn provided by L.A. Dawgz will be available while supplies last. 

West Capitol Park is located in Albany between Washington Avenue and State Street and between South Swan Street and the New York State Capitol. 

After 5 p.m., free parking is available in the Elk Street, East Garage, and Grand Street parking lots. Paid parking is available in the visitor lot underneath the Empire State Plaza.  
 
Capitol Park After Dark Schedule 

August 19 — “Notorious”  

Alfred Hitchcock directs this classic 1946 spy thriller starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Alicia Huberman (Bergman), the daughter of a convicted spy, agrees to help American agent Devlin (Grant) investigate a group of her father’s former associates living in Rio de Janeiro after World War II.  
 
August 26 — “The Goonies” 

This 1985 family adventure, directed by Richard Donner from a story by Steven Spielberg, stars Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, and Ke Huy Quan. When developers threaten to bulldoze their neighborhood, a group of friends discover an old map that may lead to a legendary pirate’s treasure. Racing to save their homes, the kids set off on a treasure hunt beneath their town.  

 
September 2 — “Arsenic and Old Lace” 

Drama critic Mortimer Brewster, played by Cary Grant, brings his new bride home to meet his two sweet, elderly aunts in this 1944 dark comedy directed by Frank Capra. The aunts, played by Josephine Hull and Jean Adair, turn out to have a charitable habit of helping lonely bachelors into the next world with a glass of poisoned elderberry wine, leaving Mortimer to figure out what to do about it.
